The Gurjari Todi raga evokes feelings of longing for and devotion to God, as well as the quality of great compassion. It is deep and profound in nature, capable of creating the experience of palpable inner stillness.
The chant emerges from and merges back into the sacred syllable Om. It moves from one rasa, or mood, to another, from profound silence to soaring crescendos. The melody for this chant was composed by Gurumayi Chidvilasananda, and this chant was recorded live with Gurumayi and Siddha Yoga musicians during the 2002 Mahasamadhi Global Intensive.
