Chanting with Gurumayi Chidvilasananda
Gurumayi chants this namasankirtana in praise of Lord Krishna. This chant glorifies two names for Lord Krishna: Gopala, the protector of cows, and Govinda, divine cowherd. Lord Krishna, known for enchanting his devotees with the sweetness of his flute, is often called the “master” of the “senses”—one who helps turn the senses within, toward the Self. Set in the Bhairavi raga, this melody evokes majestic grandeur and tender adoration.
The chant was recorded at Shree Muktananda Ashram in South Fallsburg, New York, during the summer of 1991.
