Kali Durge: CD

Chanting with Gurumayi Chidvilasananda

Kali Durge honors the goddess, the Devi, the divine Shakti or creative power, in two of her magnificent forms: Kali and Durga. In the chant, the words namo namah, "salutations again and again," call out to the Devi and invoke her blessings.

The melody is set to the Mand raga, which has its origin in the folk music of Rajasthan. The light and warmth of the raga shine through the chant, and its beauty and sweetness evoke a natural yearning for divine love.
