Commonly Asked Questions: Siddha Yoga Music for Streaming & Download
I already have a subscription to a music streaming service. Will I automatically have access to Siddha Yoga music?
- Yes, if you have a subscription to Apple Music or Spotify, you will have access to the Siddha Yoga music and teachings that have been made available for streaming.
I currently don't have a subscription to a music streaming service, nor do I wish to have one. How can I have online access to Siddha Yoga music?
- You can purchase and download Siddha Yoga music directly from iTunes or Bandcamp (you don't need to subscribe to a streaming service to do this). When you purchase and download a recording, the tracks will be added to the online music library you use on your device. If you don't have an online music library, you can search the web to select from a number of free services.
Will CDs still be available for purchase in the Siddha Yoga Bookstore?
- If the CDs are in stock, you can purchase them on the Siddha Yoga Bookstore website or at Siddha Yoga Ashrams and meditation centers that carry them.
How do I find Siddha Yoga music on the different platforms?
- To find Siddha Yoga music on the different platforms, you can search for “Gurumayi Chidvilasananda” or “Siddha Yoga.” You can also search for the title of a specific Siddha Yoga namasankirtana such as Rama Raghava.
The Bandcamp platform is new to me. What do I need to know?
- Bandcamp allows you to listen to any album on its site three times for no charge; after that, if you want to continue listening, you will need to download the album to your music library of choice. You can also continue to listen to what you downloaded on the Bandcamp app.
- There is no fee to sign up for this platform. The platform allows the purchaser to contribute more than the listed price for the download. The prices for downloads are in US dollars; unlike iTunes, they are not adjusted for local country rates.
I am having difficulties signing up to subscribe to one of the music streaming services. What do I do?
- Please contact the provider’s technical support. Also, a tech-savvy friend in your community may be able to help.
