Chanted by Gurumayi Chidvilasananda and Group
Jyota se Jyota Jagao, a joyful prayer, was written in the 1970s by a devotee of Baba Muktananda. Frequently sung at the beginning and conclusion of Siddha Yoga satsangs and Shaktipat Intensives, this prayer invokes grace and asks the Guru to dispel the darkness of ignorance and reveal the inner flame of love. Jyota se Jyota Jagao can be sung while performing arati, which is a traditional act of devotional worship through the offering of light and prayer.
Gurudeva Hamara Pyara, which means "to our beloved Guru," is a devotional hymn, written in Hindi by Baba Muktananda in praise of his Guru, Bhagavan Nityananda. This hymn, frequently sung at the conclusion of Siddha Yoga satsangs, expresses gratitude and love for the Guru's grace and teachings.
Included with the CD are the translations and transliterations of both chants as well as instructions on how to perform arati, the ritual waving of lights that is often accompanied by the singing of Jyota se Jyota Jagao.
